The Egypt national football team, led by Hossam Hassan, has revealed its squad in preparation for the matches against Angola and South Sudan in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for 2027.

The national team's agenda includes a match against Angola on September 25, followed by South Sudan on the 29th of the same month, as part of the first and second rounds, along with a friendly match against South Africa on October 4.

The goalkeepers' list includes Mostafa Shobeir, El Mahdi Soliman, Mohamed Alaa, and Abdelaziz Belalouti, while Al Ahly FC's goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy has been excluded due to an injury.

Hossam Hassan has selected for defense Mohamed Hani, Tarek Alaa, Rami Rabia, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Hossam Abdelmagid, Hamdy Fathy, Ahmed Fattouh, and Karim Hafez.

The midfield list includes Marwan Ateya, Mohanad Lashin, Mahmoud Saber, Imam Ashour, Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Ali Mahmoud, Ibrahim Adel, Mustafa Ziko, Haitham Hassan, and Mohamed Salah.

The list of forwards includes Omar Marmoush and Hamza Abdelkarim in the Pharaohs' upcoming training camp.

Ibrahim Hassan, the director of the Egypt national team, explained that the squad is missing several players due to injuries, including Trezeguet and Yasser Ibrahim, while Marwan Ateya will miss the match against Angola due to suspension.

The national team director indicated that Ateya's ban is due to the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 held in Morocco, after he was suspended by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for two matches.

Marwan Ateya's suspension means he will miss the match against Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations third-place playoff.

Egypt's national team will begin their training camp tomorrow in the National Teams Center in 6 October City, ahead of their opening match against Angola in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at Cairo Stadium on September 25. The Pharaohs will head to South Sudan on September 27 in preparation for their second round match against the hosts on September 29. The Egyptian team will then return to Cairo on September 30 to start preparations for the friendly match against South Africa, scheduled to take place at Cairo Stadium on October 4.
