Reports: Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Al-Nassr in January

Saudi sports journalist Saud Al-Sarami has sparked widespread debate about the future of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al-Nassr, after discussing the possibility of his departure during the upcoming winter transfer window.

The statements from Al-Sarami came after Al-Nassr's heavy defeat against Al-Ain, losing by four goals to nil in the first round of the league stage in the AFC Champions League Elite.

Soud Al-Sarami has stated in radio comments: "Cristiano is now an exhausted asset at Al-Nassr; he will not play any role within the club or do anything in the winter transfer window to address the team's technical deficiencies, and that will not happen."

The spokesperson added while discussing the future of Al-Nassr's captain: "I do not rule out that he may leave the club in the winter transfer window, just as happened with Karim Benzema earlier, and this will happen entirely at his own desire."

Al-Nassr's defeat against Al-Ain raises questions about the team's situation after they failed to score, while the Emirati team secured the match with four goals.

Al-Ain secured their goals through Houssine Rahimi, who netted two, alongside Soufiane Rahimi and Giorgos Giakoumakis, leaving Al-Nassr without finding the back of the net.

Cristiano Ronaldo had a chance to reduce the deficit with a direct free kick in the closing minutes, but Khalid Eissa, the Al-Ain goalkeeper, saved his shot, and the match ended with a four-goal haul.
