Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya resolve fate of Fathi Al-Jabali

Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya have made a decisive decision regarding the future of their first team coaching staff after losing to Neftchi Fergana of Uzbekistan 1-0 in their opening match of the AFC Champions League Elite yesterday.

The Asian defeat was not the only reason, as it came to complete a series of fluctuating results experienced by the league champion from last season since the start of the current season.

Since the start of the Iraqi Premier League, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya have played 7 matches so far, winning only one, alongside two losses and four draws, accumulating just 7 points and sitting in 13th place in the standings. This position is shocking and does not meet the ambitions of the management or the blue fans.

The team has appeared this season far from its usual level, both offensively and defensively, despite the changes made by the coaching staff led by Tunisian Fathi Jebali.

The team faced significant difficulties in their preparations for the AFC Champions League Elite match in Uzbekistan. They did not travel early, and the players joined the team in scattered groups, with the squad only being complete one day before the match against Neftchi.

The task has become much more difficult for coach Fathi Al-Jabal, who had called on several occasions to postpone the classic match against Al Zawraa in the seventh round, in order to give the team more time to prepare better for the continental mission, but his request was not met.

Sources close to the administration confirmed that the Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya management has given the Tunisian coach enough time and space to implement his ideas and plans with the team.

Sources added: "Despite the difficulty of the task, the management tried as much as possible to provide everything the coach needed, but the results did not come as the management or fans had hoped, and thus it was necessary to hold a meeting to determine his fate."

It was reported: "After the meeting, the management decided to terminate the contract with Al-Jabal by mutual agreement between the two parties, wishing the coach good luck in his future endeavors. They assured him that he is held in high regard and apologized for making this decision, but it is difficult to continue the current situation, and a decision must be made in the best interest of the team."

According to the same sources, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya's management has immediately opened communication channels with Omani coach Rashid Jaber to take over the team again for the remainder of the matches this season.

The Omani coach has shown initial agreement to lead the Falcons, especially since the league will pause after the next round due to the international break, which will give him enough time to make the necessary changes and reorganize the team's structure.

Rashid Jaber's return could be a lifeline for Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, especially since he knows the club's atmosphere well and has previously led it during earlier periods, achieving positive results and also winning the league.
