Manchester United have informed Portuguese player Bruno Fernandes that they intend to activate the option to extend his current contract beyond 2028, while Fernandes, who is 32 years old, wishes for a longer contract that ensures his stay at United until the end of his career.

Manchester United are preparing to offer a 3-year contract with an option for an additional year, which would keep the player until at least 2029. However, his representatives want guarantees for a longer period, along with a significant increase in his salary.

The same source clarified that Bruno Fernandes wants to commit to his future with Manchester United, noting that negotiations have accelerated after Galatasaray withdrew from the race to sign him.

Both parties still wish to reach an agreement, despite external interest in the player, after Al-Hilal made an offer to sign him in 2025, while Manchester United is still considering the length and financial terms of the contract.
