Klopp holds first meeting with Kimmich and prepares to return him to midfield

Jürgen Klopp has held an initial conversation with Joshua Kimmich during his visit to Bayern Münich's headquarters at Sabiner Strasse as he prepares for his new role with Germany.

According to "Sport Bild", Kimmich will continue to wear the captain's armband for Germany for the time being, and he will perform the same role he does with Bayern Münich, influencing the team's playing style from the midfield position.

Julian Nagelsmann, the former head coach of Germany, has given Joshua Kimmich hope of returning to his preferred midfield position during the FIFA World Cup 2026, starting with a potential clash against France in the Round of 16.

However, this scenario did not materialize, as Germany were eliminated from the tournament early after losing to Paraguay, thus ending Kimmich's hopes of returning to midfield during that stage of the FIFA World Cup.
