Liverpool knock Tottenham out of EFL Cup

Liverpool have advanced to the fourth round of the EFL Cup after beating Tottenham 3-1 at Anfield in the third round.

Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 21st minute, before Cody Gakpo added the second goal in the 54th minute, giving the hosts a comfortable advantage.

Tottenham reduced the deficit in the 69th minute through Conor Gallagher, igniting the match in its final minutes, with numerous attacks and attempts from both teams.

In the 90th minute, Dominik Szoboszlai sealed the match for Liverpool with a powerful shot from outside the box that found the net, ending the encounter with a 3-1 victory for the home side.
