Investment alliance led by Ronaldo moves to buy Al Nassr from the Public Investment Fund

An investment consortium including Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Al Nassr, is exploring the possibility of making a bid to buy the club from the Public Investment Fund, in a deal that could change the player's relationship with his team.

According to the Portuguese newspaper 'A Bola', the alliance consists of five investors, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, alongside Gerry Cardinale, the CEO of RedBird Capital Partners and owner of AC Milan.

The group also includes Ibrahim Al-Muhaideb, Mohammed Al-Khuraiji, and Sharaf Al-Hariri, in a move aimed at acquiring Al Nassr, which is currently under the control of the Public Investment Fund.

The investment plan relies on each member of the coalition committing to inject at least $100 million, raising the total expected funding for the deal to a minimum of $500 million.

The group is preparing to hold a meeting with officials from the Public Investment Fund within 48 hours to discuss the proposed offer and the fund's position on the possibility of relinquishing control of Al Nassr's shares.

The deal, if completed, could open the door for an exceptional situation for Cristiano Ronaldo, as the player may continue his on-field duties while also holding a stake in the club he represents.

This scenario gives Cristiano Ronaldo the opportunity to combine his sporting and investment roles in the Saudi league, after he becomes a player and a partner in the ownership of Al Nassr, if negotiations succeed and both parties reach a final agreement.

The deal remains in the phase of movements and discussions, while the approval of the Public Investment Fund represents the most important factor in the transfer of ownership of Al Nassr to the coalition, amid anticipation of what the upcoming meetings will yield.
