João Pedro jokes with Palmer: it's better I stay a striker so I don't compete with him

João Pedro joked with his teammate Cole Palmer, stating that he prefers to continue in the striker position rather than play as a number 10, so he doesn't find himself in direct competition with the Chelsea star for that role.

He said: "Imagine if I tried to play as a number 10, I would have to compete with Cole Palmer for the position! So it's better for me to stay as a number 9 striker."

Chelsea forward spoke about the team's mentality in front of goal, pointing out that everyone within the group has the desire to score, while coach Xabi Alonso constantly ensures that players remain focused throughout the match, explaining: "Everyone wants to score, and Xabi always tells us: no matter what happens, you just have to stay focused and connected to the game, and you will score."

João Pedro has explained that this mentality has contributed to Chelsea's strong attacking start this season, believing that the front line's ability to create chances gives the team a significant advantage over opponents, especially with several players capable of finding the net.

The Brazilian player said: "And that’s why we score a lot of goals this season from the start, because I believe the attacking trio can create a lot of chances. And if you create a lot of chances, you will also score a lot of goals," referring to the great confidence he has in Chelsea's attack under the management of Alonso.
