Real Madrid considers Dortmund goalkeeper among options

According to Spanish newspaper "AS", Real Madrid are keeping an eye on Swiss goalkeeper Gregor Kobel from Borussia Dortmund, in anticipation of the possibility that negotiations to renew their Belgian keeper Thibaut Courtois's contract may fail.

According to the report, Real Madrid have been interested in Koble's abilities for some time, but the club is not currently planning to move for him, as they are close to agreeing with Thibaut Courtois on a contract extension until June 2028.

Kobel, 28, is regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in Europe and is contracted to Borussia Dortmund until the summer of 2028. The Swiss goalkeeper has attracted interest from several major clubs, while Dortmund are keen to retain him in the team.

At present, Thibaut Courtois remains the first choice for Real Madrid, with great confidence from the club and manager José Mourinho in the Belgian goalkeeper, while interest in Kobel may only turn into a more serious step if renewal negotiations falter.
