Referee appointed for Real Madrid vs Elche in LaLiga

The referees' committee has appointed Jesús Gil Manzano to officiate the match between Elche and Real Madrid, scheduled for tomorrow Tuesday at the Martínez Valero Stadium, as part of the sixth round of LaLiga, while Raúl Martín González will take on the role of video assistant referee.

According to "Mundo Deportivo", Gil Manzano is among the referees who face criticism from Real Madrid fans and the club itself, especially after the incident of disallowing Jude Bellingham's goal in the dying moments of the team's match against Valencia.

Gil Manzano has officiated 51 matches for Real Madrid, during which the team achieved 42 victories, alongside 6 draws and 3 defeats. Real Madrid have not lost in his presence since 2020, and currently hold a streak of 22 consecutive matches without defeat.

The Spanish referee previously officiated a match between Elche and Real Madrid in the 2022/2023 season, which ended in a 3-0 victory for the royal team. He also managed another encounter between the two teams at the Santiago Bernabéu last season, which ended with Real Madrid winning 4-1.

On the other hand, Gil Manzano has officiated several matches for Elche in LaLiga, during which the team achieved one victory and two draws, alongside 8 defeats. The last match he officiated for Elche was their loss to Real Madrid 4-1 last season.
