Barcelona have chance to break historic record against Racing

FC Barcelona continues its perfect start to the 2026/2027 season, having achieved six consecutive victories in all official matches, putting them just one win away from the best start in the club's history.

According to "Sport", FC Barcelona's recent victory over Levante marks their sixth consecutive win, having defeated Elche, Athletic Bilbao, Rayo Vallecano, and Valencia in La Liga, along with a win against Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League.

This start allows FC Barcelona to match a historic record achieved by only three teams before, as the teams from the 1929/1930 season, the 1960/1961 season, and the 2018/2019 season all managed to win their first six official matches.

The last achievement of this feat came in the 2018/2019 season under Ernesto Valverde, when FC Barcelona distributed their six victories across three competitions, winning against Sevilla in the Spanish Super Cup, then achieving four wins in the league, before overcoming PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League.

Sport reports that the three teams that achieved six consecutive victories have not managed to reach a seventh win, giving Hans Flick's team a chance to make history.

FC Barcelona need to win against Racing Santander on Wednesday at Spotify Camp Nou to become the first team in the club's history to win their first seven official matches of a season.
