Liverpool eye Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde ahead of January move

Alejandro Balde's future has caught the attention of several European clubs as he has not featured for FC Barcelona since the start of the season despite being included in matchday squads under Hans Flick.

According to "Sport", Flick prefers to rely on Xavi Espasart and João Cancelo for the left-back position, making Balde the third option in that role.

The 22-year-old player has international experience with the Spain national team and participated in the FIFA World Cup 2022. His contract with FC Barcelona runs until 2028, with a release clause of one billion euros, while his market value could reach around 40 million euros.

Alejandro Balde has been linked with Manchester United and Inter Milan this summer, before Liverpool entered the race for his services. The newspaper Sport believes that the Spanish manager of the Reds, Andoni Iraola, may consider signing him a suitable option, especially if he becomes a good opportunity in the transfer market.

Flick's decision to exclude Alejandro Balde from rotation came late in the summer transfer window, complicating his potential departure at that time. However, the player now has three and a half months to think about his future, with the winter transfer window being a possible time to make a decision regarding it, while he will continue to work in training in hopes of regaining his place.

Deco has recently confirmed that Alejandro Balde remains part of FC Barcelona's squad, while a move to the Premier League could suit his abilities, with his agent Jorge Mendes potentially looking for a solution that offers him more playing time.
