Niko Kovač, the coach of Borussia Dortmund, has denied speculation linking former Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho with a return to the German team during the current period.

Jadon Sancho left Borussia Dortmund in 2021 to join Manchester United for a fee of around £73 million, but he has been unable to deliver the expected level at Old Trafford.

The English player returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan in 2024, after unsuccessful stints at Chelsea and Aston Villa, failing to establish himself as a regular or regain his best form.

Jadon Sancho, 26, has become a free agent after Manchester United decided not to renew his contract. He is attracting interest from several European clubs, including AS Roma and Atlético Madrid, and is also being monitored by Al-Rayyan SC.

Despite the talk of a possible return to Borussia Dortmund after Janis Constantelias suffered a cruciate ligament tear, Kovač has dismissed this scenario, affirming his satisfaction with the work the club has done during the summer transfer window. He stated before the match against Paderborn: "I think we had a very good summer transfer window."
