Gattuso: Happy that the team did not give up
Gennaro Gattuso, the head coach of SS Lazio, expressed his satisfaction with his players' character despite the draw against AC Milan, stating that what pleased him most was seeing his team continue to fight until the end, even after the visitors made a comeback in the second half.
Gennaro Gattuso said after the match: "I am proud of this team, and seeing the players not give up makes me happy." The Italian coach confirmed that SS Lazio had a strong first half and managed to impose their style, before the shape of the match changed significantly after the break.
SS Lazio took a two-goal lead through Matteo Cancelleri and Téji Savanier, but AC Milan turned the tables in the second half thanks to a brace from Diego Moreira within two minutes, allowing both teams to earn a point in a match that saw a significant difference between the two halves.
Despite squandering their lead, SS Lazio have maintained their unbeaten record in Serie A and continued their strong start under Gattuso, while the team's tally has risen to 10 points from four matches, awaiting the completion of the round's fixtures.
