Allegri: Things are worse than they seem, and the result is all that matters

Massimiliano Allegri, the head coach of SSC Napoli, has stated that facing Bologna represents an important opportunity for the team to regain their winning path at home, emphasizing that his side cannot afford to waste any more time after losing three consecutive matches.

He said: "Tomorrow is an opportunity for us to start winning at home. We haven't done that yet, and there isn't much to talk about; we know the situation we are in, we have lost three consecutive matches, so there isn't much to say and only things to do."

Allegri has revealed the list of absentees against Bologna, stating that Anguissa will miss out alongside Scott McTominay, Marianucci, and Giovanni, while Neres has improved and Noi Lang is available.

He added: "We have enough players to approach the match in the best possible way," before confirming that the team must handle the current phase calmly, stating: "We are the only ones who can turn this trend around; no one will give us anything, and we have to deal with it calmly."

The Italian coach discussed the team's situation and recent criticisms, emphasizing that the picture looks bleaker than reality due to the results. He said: "At these times, things seem darker than they are in reality. Performances are one thing, and we can improve in both phases, but the result affects you."

He also emphasized that the match against Bologna does not allow for calculations, adding: "Regardless of the technical performance we need to deliver, the result is decisive, and everyone will be needed."

Allegri addressed Lang's situation, stating that the player has apologized and is available for the match, but he has not confirmed whether he will start, saying: "We will see tomorrow morning, I have some doubts, but this is not due to what happened. Many things happen during a professional career, it is over now, he has apologized."

He sent a clear message to Kevin De Bruyne, stating he expects more from him: "I think he can do better. He has performed well and I am happy with him, just like everyone else, but if that is not enough, we all have to do more."

Allegri concluded his remarks by stating that SSC Napoli needs more time to reach its best physical and technical condition, noting that results may change the fans' perspective, but building the team requires patience.

He spoke about the mentality of his players: "The less we think and the more we do, the better it is," adding that the team will face Fiorentina tomorrow before the break, and then will work on improving physically.

It has been confirmed that Anguissa felt tense during training and stopped participating, which is why he is now out of consideration for the match against Bologna.
