Release clause value in Hamza Abdelkarim's new contract

FC Barcelona has raised the release clause for young Egyptian striker Hamza Abdelkarim from €15 million to €150 million, in a move that reflects the club's great confidence in the player's development and future potential.

Spanish newspaper "Sport" reported that FC Barcelona moved quickly after an unnamed club expressed unofficial interest in Hamza Abdelkarim during the summer, finalizing an improvement to his contract in just two meetings, along with a noticeable increase in his salary.

Under the new contract, the buyout clause has increased to ten times its previous value, complicating any club's efforts to sign the player without negotiating with FC Barcelona.

The newspaper reported that Hamza Abdelkarim has fully adapted to life in Barcelona, having found an apartment near the Juan Gamper sports city. His mother has also moved to live in Barcelona after staying in Egypt during the initial months of her son's journey with the club.

João Amaral is behind the signing of Hamza, having closely followed him and traveled several times to watch him during the FIFA World Cup under 20 in October 2025, before being convinced of his abilities and pushing FC Barcelona to expedite his signing from Al Ahly FC.
