Mikel Antonio returns to English football with Watford
Watford have signed Jamaican forward Michail Antonio on a one-year deal, bringing the 36-year-old back to English football after a long absence.
Antonio has been sidelined from English football since suffering a serious injury in a car accident in December 2024, before having a brief stint with Al-Sailiya in Qatar, where he made four appearances.
The Jamaican forward previously shone in a West Ham United shirt, scoring 83 goals in 323 matches and winning the UEFA Europa Conference League with the team. He also has significant experience in the English Championship, having played for Reading, Sheffield, and Nottingham Forest.
Mikel Antonio is not expected to start immediately as he needs to regain his fitness, but he could be included in Watford's squad to face Stoke City, pending international clearance. He is set to wear the number 18 shirt with the team.
