Trabzonspor keen on signing Pep Guardiola

Reports from Turkey have revealed that Trabzonspor are in negotiations with Spanish coach Pep Guardiola to take over the team's management. These moves come as part of the club's efforts to strengthen its sporting system, especially after recently securing the transfer of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, former Liverpool player.

According to what was reported by "FourFourTwo" magazine from Turkish media sources, Trabzonspor have opened communication channels with Guardiola to discuss the possibility of him overseeing the team's technical management on a permanent basis in the upcoming phase.

Despite FourFourTwo magazine ruling out the possibility of the Spanish coach moving to the Süper Lig and describing it as highly unlikely, it considered the experience worthy of attention; as Konyaspor—who feature star Mohamed Salah—has transformed into a dominant financial force capable of winning titles, a bold project led by club president Ertuğrul Doğan to extend influence locally, which could be an attractive factor for Guardiola.

The report noted that the offered salary could be a barrier, as the Spaniard earned over £20 million annually in England, while Trabzonspor's offer is €13 million, making it less attractive.

Trabzonspor are set to face Konyaspor tomorrow, Saturday, at Konyaspor Arena in the fifth round of the Süper Lig.

Trabzonspor currently sits fourth in the Süper Lig table with 7 points, while Konyaspor is in eighteenth and last place with no points.
