Pedri achieves a special milestone with FC Barcelona
Pedri has achieved a remarkable milestone with FC Barcelona, playing his 250th match for the team against Feyenoord, at the start of the club's journey in the UEFA Champions League 2026/2027. He becomes the second youngest player in the history of Barcelona to reach this number of matches, behind only Lionel Messi.
According to the newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", Pedri was 23 years and 288 days old when he reached his 250th match, while Messi achieved the same number at the age of 23 years and 241 days.
Following the duo, there is Xavi, who reached 250 matches at the age of 24 years and 99 days, then Andrés Iniesta at the age of 24 years and 253 days, and Sergio Busquets at the age of 25 years and 96 days.
Pedri reached this milestone during his seventh season with FC Barcelona, having completed six full seasons, while Messi needed a little longer to reach 250 matches. However, Messi's limited appearances in his first official season meant the gap between them was narrow.
Pedri now has the chance to continue breaking records at FC Barcelona, having previously played alongside Messi during the 2020/2021 season, which was the Argentine star's last with the team.
Xavi reached his 250th match with FC Barcelona against Real Zaragoza on September 23, 2004. Iniesta achieved the same milestone against RCD Mallorca on October 20, 2011, and Busquets reached this achievement against Sevilla on September 14, 2013.
