Yann Djemandi's place in Real Madrid's starting lineup remains on hold, as after a month since his arrival in the Spanish capital, the Ivorian forward has failed to secure a position in José Mourinho's first team, despite the hefty transfer fee of €125 million.

Diumandi has played only 23% of Real Madrid's minutes in La Liga so far, totaling 83 minutes out of 360. The match against Inter in the Champions League was a potential opportunity for him to start for the first time, but Mourinho preferred to take his time with the player, stating before the match: "Diumandi arrived on the last day, and he needs to take it step by step."

The Ivorian player faces strong competition for the winger position, with Arda Güler and Brahim Díaz, along with Rodrygo after his return from injury, as well as Endrick who is now ready to participate. So far, Güler seems to have the edge, having started in three of the four matches he was available for, while Brahim got his chance against Inter.

Ibrahim Díaz took advantage of several Real Madrid players' absences and had a significant opportunity against Inter to occupy the right wing. However, he did not settle for just participating; he delivered one of his best performances of the season and sent a clear message to Mourinho that he deserves more minutes.

The Moroccan player was influential in creating danger, having provided an assist that led to Real Madrid's first goal, as well as creating two other dangerous chances for Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé, but his teammates failed to capitalize on the opportunities.

Brahim continued to apply high pressure and tried to help his team score a third goal before leaving the pitch at Santiago Bernabéu 10 minutes from the end, with Diomande coming on as his replacement. Diomande was unable to make much of an impact during the minutes he was given, aside from a few individual attempts that did not come to fruition, and now finds himself in direct competition with Brahim for the first substitute spot on the right flank.

With the start of the season, it seemed that Diomande was the frontrunner for this role, especially after the significant transfer fee, but current circumstances have changed the equation, and Ibrahim's performance against Inter has brought the competition back to square one.

Consequently, Mourinho is faced with a tough decision in the upcoming matches: should he give Diomande a greater opportunity to prove the value of the €125 million deal, or continue to rely on Ibrahim, who has started to regain his place strongly?
