Mziyan Masloub catches the eye on his UEFA Champions League debut

Young player Mzyan caught the eye during his debut in the UEFA Champions League, contributing directly to RC Lens' victory over Czech hosts Slavia Prague with a score of 3-2 in a match that saw an exciting comeback from the French team in the final minutes.

Masloub, aged 16, came on in the 60th minute amidst challenging crowd conditions, but he displayed remarkable character and was not affected by the pressures of his first European appearance. The player stood out for his boldness, movement, and ability to retain the ball while making the right attacking decisions, before leaving his most significant mark in the 91st minute when he delivered an accurate cross with his left foot to Florian Thauvin, who equalised with a header.

RC Lens were trailing 2-1 until the final minutes, before Touvain scored the equaliser in the 91st minute, and then Ruben Aguilar completed the comeback with the third goal in the 93rd minute, allowing the French team to emerge with a valuable win.

Dino Toppmöller praised Masloub's performance after the match, stating that he feels "happy" when talking about him, emphasizing that showing such character and desire to get the ball at the age of 16 is "incredible". The coach added that he knew the player was capable of making a difference, also expressing his admiration for his previous entry against RC Strasbourg Alsace.

Mansour, born in 2009, is one of the rising talents at RC Lens, and he is the son of former Algerian international Walid Mansour. He also holds Portuguese nationality at the international level and represents the Portugal U17 national team. The player recently signed his first professional contract with RC Lens after catching the eye in his only appearance in Ligue 1 last season, where he scored a goal in his debut match against FC Nantes.
