FC Barcelona prepares to reward Raphinha with a new contract
FC Barcelona are preparing to start discussions with Brazilian Raphinha about renewing his contract, in a move that reflects the club's appreciation for the levels the player has been delivering since joining the team.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has stated via his YouTube channel that FC Barcelona and Raphinha will begin discussions regarding a new contract, despite the Brazilian winger's current deal running until June 30, 2028.
Raphinha joined FC Barcelona from Leeds United in the summer of 2022, and since then he has managed to establish his place within the team, before the club renewed his contract in May 2025 to continue until 2028.
Raphinha has attracted interest from several clubs, particularly from the Saudi league, but the player has continued his career with FC Barcelona, which has come to rely on him as one of its key attacking elements.
Raphinha's status within the team has been bolstered with him receiving the captain's armband, alongside his continued key role under Hans Flick. This development is prompting FC Barcelona to act to keep him for a longer period.
Negotiations between the two parties are expected to begin soon to discuss the details of the new contract.
