Alvarez's stance on moving to Barcelona in January
Reports have revealed that Julián Alvarez, Atlético's forward, is no longer willing to push for a departure from the club during the upcoming winter transfer window, after the relationship between the player and the club's management has improved in recent times.
According to Spanish network "ElNacional", the Argentine forward does not wish to enter into a new dispute with Atlético, especially after the crisis that erupted during the summer transfer window when he was strongly linked with a move to FC Barcelona.
Julián Alvarez stirred controversy over the summer due to his desire to leave, but Atlético held on to him before the player gradually returned to Diego Simeone's plans.
The Argentine started against Liverpool in the Champions League, providing an assist for Marcos Llorente despite his team's 2-1 defeat.
Despite Julián Alvarez backing away from the idea of forcing a transfer in January, FC Barcelona remains interested in securing his services. However, the Catalan club's management has also begun exploring other attacking options in anticipation of the possibility that the deal may not be completed.
These developments come amid an improvement in Julián Alvarez's relationship with Atlético, which could make his transfer to FC Barcelona in the winter transfer window more challenging, especially if the player continues to regain his form and establish himself within Simeone's lineup.
