Al Ahly FC have suffered a major blow as their medical staff revealed that defender Amr El Gazar has sustained a tear in his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus following the match against El Mokawloon SC.
Al Ahly FC has officially announced the details of Amr El Gazar's injury after he underwent tests and scans this morning, following the injury he sustained during the team's match in the Egyptian League.
Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, head of the medical staff for the first football team at Al Ahly FC, stated that scans have confirmed Amr El Gazar has suffered a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament and the meniscus.
Gab Allah added that the medical staff is currently working on determining the suitable date for the Al Ahly FC defender to undergo surgery, in preparation for starting his treatment and rehabilitation program in the upcoming period.
Amr El Gazar suffered a knee sprain during the match between Al Ahly FC and El Mokawloon SC in the Egyptian League, before leaving the pitch due to the injury.
Al Ahly FC defender suffered an injury in the early minutes of the second half, prompting the coaching staff to substitute him, bringing on Hady Reyad to continue the match.
Ahmad Gaballah has revealed that El Gazar suffered a knee sprain after the match, before scans conducted by the player on Thursday morning provided a more accurate assessment of the injury.
Al Ahly FC is awaiting the scheduling of Amr El Gazar's surgery, along with the rehabilitation program that the player will undergo post-operation, according to the medical staff's assessment.
