Chelsea turn the tables on Leeds in crazy EFL Cup match
Chelsea have advanced to the fourth round of the EFL Cup after a thrilling 6-3 victory over Leeds United in the match that took place at Stamford Bridge during the third round.
Leeds started the match strongly, taking the lead through Taraf Mahramovic in the 23rd minute, before Brenden Aaronson doubled the visitors' advantage with a second goal at the start of the second half, specifically in the 48th minute.
Chelsea quickly rallied and delivered a strong comeback, scoring four consecutive goals in a short span. Cole Palmer started the scoring with two goals in the 53rd and 55th minutes, before Pedro Neto added the third goal in the 60th minute, and Danny Welbeck capped off the four-goal haul in the 65th minute.
Leeds fought back as Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored their third goal in the 75th minute, but Chelsea netted a fifth through Valentín Barco in the 80th minute, before Danny Welbeck added a sixth for the Blues in the 94th minute.
With this victory, Chelsea have continued their journey in the EFL Cup and secured a place in the fourth round, having successfully turned a two-goal deficit into a thrilling 5-3 win in front of their fans at Stamford Bridge.
