Noor Sabri finds himself in big trouble with Iraqi judiciary

Former Iraq national team goalkeeper Nour Sabri is heading to the Iraqi judiciary today to testify in an important case related to the Iraqi Football Federation elections, particularly amid the ongoing disputes between current federation president Younis Mahmoud and former president Adnan Dirjal.

Adnan Darjal, the former president of the Iraq Football Association, has filed several complaints against the current federation in Iraqi courts and at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), claiming irregularities in the elections, including the participation of international players' association representative Samer Said in the voting process.

In response to Adnan Darjal's complaint against the International Players Association, current federation president Younis Mahmoud has decided to file an official complaint against former president Adnan Darjal with the Federal Integrity Commission. He confirmed that he possesses several files against him, but clarified that he did not wish to present them to the Integrity Commission or the judiciary previously.

Former international player Samer Saeed has stated in media remarks: "The International Players Association is linked to civil society organizations and not to the Football Association, and Captain Adnan Darjal has no right to file a complaint against us. Recently, former players Ali Jabar and Mohamed Kasid testified before the judge assigned to the case, confirming that they signed a mandate for me to represent them in the elections of the Iraqi Football Association, and the judge's stance was positive towards them."

He added: "The judge praised our efforts in serving the country and sports in particular, as well as the role of the association and the initiatives we are undertaking. This made me very happy, because our work is being followed by the judges. As an association, we are not affiliated with anyone, and we work independently. Our doors are open to everyone, and those who wish to seek assistance will certainly receive it from us, as we are working to support the players of the Iraqi national team, and we look forward to developing our work and obtaining support from various parties."

Nour Sabri stated: "The process of providing testimonies before the judiciary is ongoing, as the former international goalkeeper Nour Sabri went to court today to give his testimony regarding his signature on my nomination paper to represent the association in the elections, as well as to confirm the accuracy of the minutes of our last meeting. The judiciary has a complete list of the individuals who attended the meeting, and if anyone denies their signature or doubts its validity, I will be the first and last responsible, and I am ready to bear all legal consequences."

Noor Sabri is a member of the Iraqi International Players Association, as most of its members participate with the Iraq veterans team, which is preparing to compete in the Gulf Cup for veterans, scheduled to take place in Qatar on October 10, after the tournament was moved from Saudi Arabia due to a lack of available stadiums in Jeddah.
