Mbappé receives UEFA Champions League top scorer award before Inter clash

Kylian Mbappé, the French star and forward for Real Madrid, has received the UEFA Champions League top scorer award for the 2025-2026 season, just before the kickoff of the match against Inter this evening at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, as part of the first round of the league stage of the competition.

Kylian Mbappé finished last season of the UEFA Champions League as the top scorer with 15 goals in 11 matches, earning the top scorer award after an exceptional season with Real Madrid.

The French forward scored 13 goals during the league stage in 7 matches, netting braces against Olympique Marseille, Monaco, and Benfica, alongside a hat-trick against Kairat Almaty, and a historic four-goal haul against Olympiacos.

Kylian Mbappé completed his scoring record with a goal in each match against Real Madrid and Bayern Münich in the quarter-finals, reaching 15 goals in the competition.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo has managed to score more goals in a single UEFA Champions League edition, having netted 17 goals in the 2013-2014 season and 16 goals in the 2015-2016 season.
