Enzo Fernández adds new energy to Manchester City

Enzo Fernández has made a swift impact in the Manchester City dressing room after his move from Chelsea for £125 million on transfer deadline day. His teammate Matheus Nunes confirmed that the Argentine player has brought a new energy that the team needed.

Fernández, 25, made his first appearance in a Manchester City shirt against Coventry on Saturday, having been forced to start unexpectedly following Nico Aurier's injury during warm-up. Despite the short notice, the Argentine midfielder delivered a calm and convincing performance on his debut.

Nunes said: "He has brought a lot of energy, and I can feel a new energy around the team, and I think we needed that. He has great energy, and he knows the club and its standards."

The Portuguese midfielder stated that the new arrivals to the team possess high levels, noting that the new players need to understand the club's identity and transfer the team's 'DNA' to them as part of the squad rebuilding process.

Manchester City have spent over £400 million during the transfer window, including more than £300 million to strengthen their midfield following the departures of Rodri and Bernardo Silva.

Fernández is now preparing for his first European test with Manchester City, as the team visits Porto in the Champions League, amid great ambitions to restore the team's continental level after a decline in their results in the competition in recent years.
