Newcastle have a unique path to sign Karim Benzema
Sport Witness has revealed that Newcastle United could have the best chance among European clubs to sign Karim Benzema if the French striker decides to return to Europe after leaving Al-Hilal.
Karim Benzema, who has become a free agent, simply cannot transfer to any European club due to a commercial and ambassadorial agreement linked to the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), which extends until 2030 and brings him substantial financial returns. According to reports, moving outside Saudi Arabia could result in losing these benefits.
Here, Newcastle appears as an exceptional case, considering that the club is owned by the same Public Investment Fund. The network believes this could open the door to finding a formula that allows Benzema to play in Europe while maintaining his connection to Saudi interests, although there is no confirmation that Newcastle has actually begun negotiations to sign him.
Olympique Lyon had attempted to bring back Karim Benzema this summer, and the player was even willing to return for free. However, the deal fell through due to his contractual situation linked to Saudi Arabia. Therefore, if Benzema wants to embark on a new European experience, Newcastle may be the most logical option from a contractual standpoint.
