Liverpool throw Real Madrid's plans into disarray over Courtois' successor

Real Madrid are facing increasing difficulty in finding a potential replacement for their Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, having lost one of the names that was of interest to the club to Liverpool.

Thibaut Courtois's contract with Real Madrid will expire next June. Although the club is looking to renew it for at least one more season, it is simultaneously working on finding a goalkeeper capable of succeeding him in the future, especially as he reaches 34 years of age.

According to "Mundo Deportivo", Real Madrid have been watching a number of goalkeepers, including young Belgian Luka Projmans, the 18-year-old goalkeeper from KRC Genk, who has transferred to Liverpool. He was highly regarded within the Spanish club.

Brougmans has some qualities that make him a suitable option for Real Madrid. He is Belgian, came through the KRC Genk academy, stands two meters tall, and possesses great potential that has caught the attention of the royal club.

According to Cadena COPE, Real Madrid were considering the possibility of signing the young goalkeeper in the coming months, but Liverpool moved quickly and secured the deal for €35 million.

Brougmans is set to continue with KRC Genk on loan this season, despite officially transferring to Liverpool, who have successfully signed one of the goalkeepers that were on Real Madrid's radar.

The deal forces Real Madrid to reconsider their options for replacing Courtois, as he has become one of the names the club had in mind that is now out of reach for the team, while they continue to work on identifying the right goalkeeper for the future.
