David Alaba rejects SS Lazio offer

Austrian David Alaba has rejected an offer from SS Lazio for a free transfer to join the club, following the end of his career with Real Madrid.

According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, SS Lazio has been studying the possibility of signing David Alaba to bolster their defense, especially after Alessio Romagnoli's departure to Al Sadd, alongside the absence of defender Patrick for an unspecified period due to injury.

David Alaba has emerged as one of the prominent names put forward to the management of the Italian club, especially since signing him would not require any transfer fee, as he is a free agent after leaving Real Madrid. This has made the deal seem like a suitable option for the Italian capital club.

However, financial issues have formed an obstacle to completing the deal, as Alaba is linked with a salary of around €3 million per season.

Reports indicate that the player is asking for a salary around this figure, prompting SS Lazio to assess their ability to bear the cost within their current financial situation.

David Alaba is 34 years old and has extensive experience at the highest level, having spent five years with Real Madrid and previously with Bayern Munich, during which he won numerous titles, including the UEFA Champions League. He is also known for his ability to play in multiple defensive positions, making him an attractive option for SS Lazio manager Gennaro Gattuso.
