Lautaro Martínez reveals his talk with Julián Alvarez: the period he is going through is not easy
Lautaro Martínez, the striker and captain of Inter Milan, has revealed details of his conversation with compatriot Julián Alvarez, amid the tough period the Atlético striker is experiencing after his failed move to FC Barcelona during the recent transfer window.
Lautaro Martínez, during the press conference ahead of Inter's match against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, said: "I spoke to him and sent him a message showing my support. Aside from the fact that we share a position and compete for a place in the national team, he is a friend of mine."
He added: "The moment he has gone through and is going through is not easy, but the decision is up to his club and the club president."
Inter captain has expressed his full support for Julián Alvarez, wishing him a quick return to form, saying: "I wish him all the best, and I hope he improves soon and continues to deliver what he has shown so far, he is a wonderful player and one of the best in the world."
Julián Alvarez has expressed his desire to leave Atlético and join FC Barcelona, but the Spanish club has insisted on his continuation, meaning the Argentine forward will remain with the team as his contract runs until 2030.
