Santos takes over CD Nacional until the end of the season

CD Nacional announced today, Monday, that they have officially contracted coach Alexandre Santos to lead the first team until the end of the current season, replacing coach João Gama.

Santos FC, aged 49, embarks on his first experience as a head coach in the Primeira Liga, after accumulating extensive experience outside his country, notably leading AS FAR Rabat last season, alongside stints in the Angolan and Tunisian leagues.

The Portuguese coach previously managed Angolan side Petro de Luanda, leading them to several domestic titles. He also coached Tunisian club Club Sportif Sfaxien and AS FAR Rabat, before a brief stint with Kuwait, without leading the team in any official match.

Santos FC's first challenge will be to improve CD Nacional's results in the Portuguese league as they prepare to officially launch their mission against Alcochete, in their first test at the helm of the team.
