Diomandé faces golden opportunity to prove himself with Real Madrid against Inter

After a month since Real Madrid announced the signing of Ivorian Diomandé, the young player is still waiting for his real chance to prove himself with the royal team, having only participated for 83 minutes since the start of the season.

Despite Real Madrid spending €125 million to sign Diomand, making him the most expensive player in the club's history, the 19-year-old has yet to start a match, and he has not played more than 30 minutes in any game.

Diomand has participated in four matches in La Liga, where he played 26 minutes against Espanyol, 6 minutes against Real Sociedad, 25 minutes against Málaga, and 26 minutes against Real Betis, without scoring or assisting any goals so far.

This limited use of the player comes amid Arda Güler's impressive performances on the right flank, alongside José Mourinho's gradual approach with the young talent, especially as he is experiencing his first season at this level after a standout season with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.

José Mourinho spoke about Diomande: "He has to take it step by step. He is working well and working hard. He is an open and humble player who wants to learn and work, and he listens to me and his teammates. He will develop, but we need to remain calm."

Real Madrid's manager added: "When we talk about a large amount like this, everyone expects the player to come in and make a big impact from the start, but that is not the case. He is very young and a bit naive, but he has immense potential. Take things slowly."

Inter's upcoming match presents a unique opportunity for Diomande to secure his first start, following several significant absences for Real Madrid ahead of the game.

Arda Güler and Bernardo Silva will miss the match due to suspension, while the team will also be without Eduardo Camavinga because of suspension. Meanwhile, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Tiago continue their recovery from injury, which may lead Mourinho to choose between Diomande and Brahim Díaz to fill one of the attacking positions.

The key question ahead of the Inter clash is whether Mourinho will continue his gradual approach with Diomande or finally give him a chance to start in the UEFA Champions League to showcase his abilities on the biggest European stage.
