AS Port coach discusses loss to Zamalek SC

Laurent Djam, the head coach of AS Port, spoke about his team's loss to Zamalek SC in the CAF Champions League.

Djibouti's AS Port lost 2-1 to Zamalek SC last Friday in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Djam stated in remarks on "Modern" channel: "We started the match with difficulty against Zamalek SC, the adaptation between the lines did not happen at the beginning, and in the second half we corrected the mistakes, organized the team, and got into the atmosphere of the match."

He added: "I prepared the team in a short period; we were supposed to have a preparation period for the CAF Champions League, but it did not happen. We faced Zamalek SC, which is a big team in the Champions League."

He continued: "Of course, we tried to prepare anew to reduce player errors, and in the first leg, we made mistakes. We hope to rectify this in the second match."

He concluded: "As a start, the 2-1 loss to Zamalek SC is acceptable. We know the strength of Zamalek SC, and in our first match against a big club, it is a significant beginning for us. I believe our luck was hindered by facing a team like Zamalek SC."
