Marcel Regula's transfer to Borussia Dortmund remains on the table, despite his move to the German club falling through at the last moment of the summer transfer window.

Zagłębie Lubin president Paweł Jeż has stated in remarks to CANAL+ Sport that Borussia Dortmund is still planning for the player's future, clarifying that the transfer could take place in the winter transfer window or in the summer of 2027.

Marcel Regula was very close to joining Borussia Dortmund on the last day of the transfer window, even preparing to travel to Germany, but the German club changed its plan in the final hours and preferred to sign Ethan Nwaneri from Arsenal on loan to cover for the injury of Yanis Konstantinou.

According to reports, Borussia Dortmund have not closed the file on Marcel Regula, but continue to follow his development, making a return to the club in January or the summer of 2027 a strong possibility.

The summer deal is set to cost Borussia Dortmund around €5.5 million as a fixed fee, plus €2.5 million in bonuses, along with a share for Zagułmby from any future resale of the player, according to Polish media reports.
