The crises continue within Real Madrid after the surprising loss to Real Betis, as the team faces a significant problem in midfield ahead of their return to UEFA Champions League action and the match against Inter, amid absences that have hit this position.

José Mourinho finds himself facing a tough task in finding a new midfield combination, as four players have been confirmed absent for various reasons: Bernardo Silva, Arda Güler, Eduardo, and Aurélien Tchouaméni. This leaves Federico Valverde as the only available primary option in midfield.

Bernardo Silva will miss the match due to suspension, while Güler and Camavinga continue to serve their remaining penalties from last season. Meanwhile, Tchouaméni is struggling with an injury, which puts the coaching staff in a position to urgently devise a solution ahead of the European clash.

Jude Bellingham stands out as one of the key options to fill the gap, especially since the player has previously played in midfield, although Mourinho prefers to utilize him near the penalty area due to his ability to score goals and create danger. Involving Brahim Díaz in the playmaking position could be one of the solutions that allows for maintaining the 4-2-3-1 formation.

Trent Alexander-Arnold represents another option, having previously moved into central areas during some matches. However, relying on him fully in midfield may require a change in playing style, especially since his usual role combines that of a full-back and an advanced full-back.

One proposed solution is to switch to a 4-3-3 formation, utilizing Trent on the right side of midfield, Bellingham on the left, alongside Federico Valverde, while the attacking trio leads the front line.

Dean Huijsen is among the surprising options due to his technical abilities and quality on the ball, although his inclusion in midfield may affect the build-up play from the back, especially given the reliance on him as a centre-back.

In light of these absences, George Sestero may get an important opportunity with the first team, especially after Thiago Pitarch's continued absence due to injury and Manuel Ángel's departure during the recent transfer window.
