Former Manchester United player lives a double life away from football

Joe Riley, former Manchester United player, is experiencing a different chapter in his career as he transitions from professional football to working in insurance and financial protection while continuing to play football at the non-professional league level.

29-year-old Riley made his first-team debut for Manchester United under manager Louis van Gaal, appearing in two matches, including the UEFA Europa League clash against Midtjylland in 2016, which also marked the beginning of Marcus Rashford's career with the team.

After leaving Old Trafford, Riley had spells with Sheffield United, Bradford City, Carlisle United, and Walsall, before moving to football outside the professional leagues, where he played for clubs such as AFC Fylde and Tamworth. He is currently playing with Warrington Rylands in the English seventh tier.

Alongside his football career, Riley is currently working as a financial protection consultant, providing services related to life insurance, income protection, and coverage against serious illnesses and injuries, affirming that he enjoys this new chapter of his life while continuing to play football part-time.
