However, Karim Benzema's return to Olympique Lyon is hindered by his current contract as an ambassador for the Saudi Pro League, which runs until 2030 and imposes restrictions on his ability to sign with a club in another country.

Ghimie noted that this contract with the Saudi Pro League prevents Benzema from transferring and signing with a club outside Saudi Arabia, making the idea of his return to Olympique Lyon unfeasible despite the player's desire and the club's readiness.
