Isaac: We started the season the way we want, last season is behind me
Alexander Isak, Liverpool's forward, spoke about his team's 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town in the third round of the Premier League, confirming that the team is starting to show the way they want to play, while last season is now behind them.
Isak said: "We were waiting for the first win, and we were talking about the need to start the match well, which we haven't done recently, and we succeeded in that and scored two goals."
He added: "With a normal preparation period, I think we have started to get closer to the way we want to play, by being attacking and pressing the opponent's defense. We showed that today, we scored two goals and could have scored more."
Liverpool's striker touched on the difficulties he faced during last season, saying: "It wasn't easy. It was a long injury, and it was a tough season overall. I was thinking that I wanted to first have a good World Cup, then start the season well, and I feel like I've done that now."
Isaac concluded his statements by saying: "That season is somewhat behind me now, but it wasn't easy."
