Pato enters the investment world and acquires an English club

Former Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato has become an investor in the Sports Alpha Capital group, which has officially received approval from the Premier League and the independent football regulatory body to complete the purchase of Northampton Town, a club competing in the fourth tier of English football.

Pato, who previously played for AC Milan, Chelsea, and the Brazil national team, will be part of the group of investors that will manage the club during the upcoming phase.

Northampton Town chairman Kelvin Thomas has stated that the club is excited about the new investors, noting that the group has shown a real passion for football. Several members of the group visited the city of Northampton and attended matches of the team.

Thomas added that the new investors will bring a mix of football experience, financial capabilities, and corporate expertise, expressing hope that the Brazilian investors will add a "touch of Brazilian magic" to the club.

Northampton Town currently sit in 18th place in the Premier League, having drawn three matches and lost one in their first four rounds of the season.

The top three teams will be promoted directly to the Third Division, while the teams finishing fourth to seventh will compete in a playoff for the fourth promotion spot.
