Despite huge spending, Manchester City leaves Haaland without a replacement

Manchester City spent €526 million during the summer transfer window, rebuilding their midfield with the signings of Rodri, Elliot Anderson, and Enzo Fernández, but they have not addressed the issue of lacking a direct replacement for Erling Haaland.

According to "Foot Mercato", Rodri's departure was highlighted as a major weakness in Manchester City's transfer market, despite being compensated by three midfield players, giving the team five players to fill two positions in the 4-2-3-1 formation used by Enzo Marisca.

The biggest problem lies in the number 9 striker position, as Manchester City currently do not have a clear alternative to Haaland, having previously had Julián Alvarez and Omar Marmoush.

Erling Haaland missed just one match due to injury last season, but he was absent for 12 matches the season before, raising questions about the team's ability to cope in his absence.

Marishka has options like Antoine Semenyo, Iliman Ndiaye, and Alan Elias, but Manchester City concluded the transfer window with significant spending without signing a specialist backup striker for Haaland.
