Mustafa Shobeir reveals details of contract renewal with Al Ahly FC

Mustafa Shobeir, Al Ahly FC goalkeeper, has revealed the details of his contract extension with the club until the summer of 2029 for an additional two seasons beyond the remaining one. He noted that the negotiations involved discussions and debates about including a release clause before settling on the final contract terms.

Mustafa Shobeir stated in remarks to Al Ahly FC's channel: "My presence at Al Ahly is a blessing from God... I am at home, and what I have with Al Ahly is not just contracts; I am one of the club's sons, and everyone must understand that it is impossible for me to go against any policy of the club."

"Regarding the renewal, it did not take as long as some believe. It is true that we held more than one session, but there was a misunderstanding among some, as they thought that my agent was talking about a release clause, and that this was what delayed the renewal, and this is not true."

He continued: "We held a meeting before the camp, and we agreed not to include a penalty clause. After the camp, one of the officials spoke to me and explained the reasons for not including a penalty clause, and I understood the matter, as this is the club's system. They believed that including this clause would not be appropriate at this time."

He added: "The club was initially in agreement, then we disagreed on the duration, and in the end, the club changed its decision, and I respected that decision. In the end, I renewed my contract without a release clause."

He continued: "Some had a misunderstanding, and regardless of my will and my father Ahmed Shobair's will, our name is linked to the club, and Al Ahly FC has a great favor on us. I am currently the first-choice goalkeeper for Al Ahly FC and the Egypt national team, and the club has played a significant role in my reaching this point."

He continued: "My message to the fans? I thank them for their attendance and support, and I hope no one interferes between us in anything. As long as we are united, we will win all the titles."
