Al Ahly FC officially part ways with Rui Pedro and appoints Hossawi to his duties

Al Ahly FC have officially announced the termination of their contractual relationship with Rui Pedro, the club's sporting director, by mutual consent. This decision comes after the period he spent leading the sporting affairs.

The management of Al Ahly FC has decided to appoint Osama Hawsawi, the former assistant sports director, to take on the responsibilities of the sports administration temporarily during the upcoming period, until a new sports director is settled on.

Al Ahly FC have decided to part ways with Rui Pedro following a comprehensive assessment of his work, amid dissatisfaction from club officials regarding several issues, primarily the signings and changes the team underwent during the summer transfer window.

Hawsawi joined Al Ahly FC's administrative staff in September 2025 as an assistant to the sporting director, bringing previous experience within the club, and is now taking on a new temporary role in leading the sporting file.
