Moreira: Milan is the biggest club in Italy and it's my turn to prove it
Portuguese player Diego Moreira, the new signing for AC Milan, discussed the details of his joining the Italian club, confirming that his choice of the Rossoneri was due to the club's great stature. He noted that his first days within the team were very special.
Diego Moreira stated in remarks to the AC Milan channel: "I chose Milan because they are the biggest club in Italy. My first days were magical, it was a new experience, and my teammates welcomed me very well. They spoke to me from day one, and I felt at home since my arrival."
Regarding his preferred position, the player explained: "I am ready to play, and I am waiting for my opportunity, and I believe the coach will give it to me when the right time comes. In our system, I prefer to play on the right, and I spoke with the coach about that, and this is also the place where he sees me playing."
Diego Moreira touched on his choice of shirt number 22, saying: "Number 7 was not available, so I chose 22 because it was my age at the time of signing, and because a legendary player I admired wore this number. When the club invests a certain amount in a player, it means they believe in him, and now it's my turn to prove they were right."
The Portuguese player stressed that his primary aim is to assist the team, adding: "My priority is to win matches with the team, and personal achievements come after that. If the team doesn't achieve anything, you can't really achieve anything individually. I will do my job on the pitch, and I believe everything else will come naturally."
