UEFA opens investigation into Guendouzi, Greenwood and Fenerbahçe after Lyon match

Fenerbahçe has announced that it and its players Mattéo Guendouzi and Mason Greenwood are subject to disciplinary proceedings by UEFA following the events that occurred during the match against Olympique Lyon in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League qualifying round.

Mattéo Guendouzi stated after the match that Lyon fans insulted his family, mother, and children throughout the game and during warm-up, asserting that his actions were a response to those provocations and that he believes he has the right to celebrate in the way he wants.

Mason Greenwood, who recently left Olympique Marseille, provoked Lyon fans by chanting 'Come on Marseille'.

Fenerbahçe has issued a statement confirming that UEFA has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Guendouzi, Greenwood, and the club.
