Matia De Sciglio, the Italian full-back and former Juventus player, is contemplating retirement from football after remaining without a club since his departure from the Bianconeri in the summer of 2025.

Mattia De Sciglio is 33 years old and last appeared for FC Empoli during the 2024/25 season, before his contract with Juventus ended and he entered the free agent market in July 2025.

The player confirmed last February that he is not thinking about retirement, stating that he trains daily to maintain his fitness and that he wishes to embark on a new experience, preferably outside Italy.

However, with his continued absence from the pitch and no agreement with any club, De Sciglio has started to consider the option of retirement, ending a career that saw him wear the shirts of AC Milan, Juventus, Lyon, and FC Empoli, alongside playing 40 international matches for the Italy national team.
