AC Milan have decided to reintegrate English defender Fikayo Tomori into the squad after his failed transfer to another club during the summer transfer window and the market closing without reaching an agreement regarding his departure.

Fikayo Tomori had been left out of coach Ruben Amorim's plans in recent weeks, training separately from the group as the club sought to find a new team for him, before circumstances changed following the failure of negotiations for his transfer to Fulham.

AC Milan's decision to re-sign Fikayo Tomori also comes as a result of their failure to secure a new centre-back during the transfer window, alongside Matteo Gabbia's struggle with an ankle injury, making the return of the English defender an important option to bolster the backline.

Tomori is set to reclaim the number 23 shirt, becoming available again for Amorim, with his current contract at AC Milan running until June 30, 2027.
