FC Barcelona reveals Bisiwu's condition
FC Barcelona have clarified the situation regarding their young player Jesse Bisiwu's injury sustained during the match against Barcelona Athletic against Sabadell in the Catalonia Cup final, after the player left the pitch on a stretcher following a strong challenge in the early minutes of the match.
Jesse Bisiwu suffered a strong challenge from Sabadell's Pipa, falling to the ground with clear pain in his right ankle, forcing coach Juliano Belletti to substitute him early.
Injury concerns have arisen within FC Barcelona regarding Jesse Bisiwu, especially after signs of pain were clearly visible on the player, raising fears of a serious injury that could sideline him for an extended period. However, the medical examinations that Bisiwu underwent this morning were reassuring.
FC Barcelona confirmed in a medical statement that the player is only suffering from a bruise on his right ankle, with no serious injury. They indicated that his return to training is expected to happen shortly.
Consequently, Jesse Bisiwu will not have to be absent for long, as he will receive several days of rest and recovery before returning to team training, with the exact date of his return to be determined based on how he feels and his response to treatment.
Jesse Bisiwu is expected to miss FC Barcelona Atlètic's opening match in the Spanish Segunda División, when they face Nàstic next Sunday at Johan Cruyff Stadium, at 7 PM.
FC Barcelona Atlético lost to Sabadell 2-1 in the Catalonia Cup final, having put in a good performance against an opponent two divisions above them. Meanwhile, Juliano Belletti expressed his satisfaction with his players' performance despite his sadness over the injury to Jesse Bisiwu.
