Bisiwu suffers concerning injury
Belgian Jesse Bisiwu, winger for FC Barcelona, suffered a worrying injury during the Catalonia Cup final against Sabadell on Wednesday evening, following a strong challenge to his right ankle.
Jesse Bisiwu did not last more than about 10 minutes on the pitch before collapsing in pain following a challenge from Sabadell's Pipa, who stepped on the player's heel while attempting to turn and drive the ball forward.
Footage revealed the Belgian winger suffering from pain, prompting the medical team of FC Barcelona to intervene swiftly to examine him before deciding to substitute him and avoid the risk of aggravating the injury.
Jesse Bisiwu left the pitch visibly limping and was taken off on a stretcher, raising concerns within FC Barcelona about the nature and severity of the injury.
Jesse Bisiwu's match against Sabadell was only his second game with FC Barcelona Atlètic, having joined the team at the start of the season to continue his adaptation process with the reserve side under the guidance of Juliano Belletti.
The player had left a good impression during the preparation period after getting the chance to work with the first team. He shone in the friendly match against Basel, scoring two goals, which garnered the attention of the coaching staff and raised high expectations regarding his development in the upcoming period.
Jesse Bisiwu is set to undergo further medical examinations on Thursday to determine the exact nature of his injury and the expected duration of his absence from the pitch.
